Review by Heather Phares

SpiritZone's Global Psychedelic Chill Out, Vol. 3 features two discs of Goa trance from outfits such as Ouija, Ololiuqui, Kick Bong, and Grey Area. While all the tracks on the set are lengthy, hypnotic excursions, there's enough diversity to keep things from becoming mind-numbing. Younger Brother's "Evil & Harm" has an appropriately menacing pulse, while Ooze's "Restricted Flow" is lighter and more melodic and Indiadrop's "Ya, Mahmud [El Jadida Mosque Mix]" stays close to Goa's quasi-Indian roots. Other highlights include Jens Buchert's smoky "Tequila Sunrise" and Dubbelhelix's rippling, slightly psychedelic "Magic Night." Global Psychedelic Chill Out, Vol. 3 might not feature the best-known names in Goa trance, but it still features some adequate expressions of the style.
