All Music Guide Review:
Review by Steve Huey
While Not Richard, But Dick shows signs of the Milkmen's former sophomoric outlandishness ("Let's Get the Baby High"), the length (under half an hour) shows that the band was running desperately short on ideas, as evidenced by most of the album's failure to hold the listener's interest -- there isn't even much of the stylistic experimentation that marked Soul Rotation. Without their trademark sense of humor, the Milkmen are an average-at-best punk-pop band without much to say. "I Dream of Jesus" is a tribute to/ripoff of John S. Hall's monologues with King Missile.
